With the introduction of the iPhone (like it or not) it has set the industry in motion to create a richer interface for Mobile users. As mobile applications gain popularity Firefox has finally started developing their 1.0 version of Touch Screen UI Designs for mobile web surfing. This step is in sync with the trend for this year, The Mobile Internet. Yes, you can already surf the internet on your phone but it’s still a little unfamiliar and sometimes awkward. Even with the iPhone’s UI, which other phones are now following, Mobile browsing doesn’t have an industry standard. In addition, with touch screen movement gaining huge ground and Firefox stepping up to the plate, I believe users will want to browse via their mobile phones more than ever. I think the Mobile Internet will make a strong impression in the next year and if we have a choice of browsers, I think it will entice us to try Mobile surfing or at least, get a Touch Screen phone!
