Now, batch processing isn’t the most interesting topic on the planet, and no I’m not starving for content thank you very much! The reason I’m blogging about this is every once in a while you just need to batch some freak’n images.
For example, a client of mine, who is a photographer, has a site that’s really pretty cool but every now and again I have to update his site. That means taking a ton of images and making them uniformly the same size. I know I know, I can use Photoshop for that but have you seen how complicated it is to get Photoshop to do that. It takes more time for me to set it up than it’s worth.
Therefore, I was overjoyed when I saw this handy little batching program that said it was really simple and it’s cross platform. Allow me to introduce Squash. Squash makers say that it allows resizing of images in a batch mode. It is friendly and usable and does one thing well - resizing images. It is a multi-threaded application and is designed to run on Linux, Mac and Windows. It’s really simple and easy to use.
So, if ever you’re in a situation where you have to resize a shite load of images try Squash and it will make you smile!
